Home Energy Retrofit Occupations (HERO) Academy Earth Advantage recently launched the Home Energy Retrofit Occupations (HERO) Academy – a paid, 15-week new worker training program that will equip 3-5 new workers with the skills to install energy-efficient water heating systems in Portland, Oregon homes. HERO was co-developed with industry partners and will be taught by Steve Brotton of Great Northwest Installations. The program combines three weeks of hands-on specialized classroom instruction, twelve weeks of paid on-the-job training, plus career coaching and support services.
